Major Flood Warning for the lower Diamantina River
Issued at 9:50 am EST on Saturday 23 February 2019
Flood Warning Number: 26
Major flood levels are occurring on the lower Diamantina River at Birdsville.
No significant rainfall has fallen across the catchment during the last week and no further rain is expected for the next few days. Water levels will change only very slowly over coming days.

Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes:
Moderate to major flooding continues along the lower Diamantina River between Diamantina Lakes and Birdsville.
The Diamantina River at Birdsville is peaking at around 8.10 metres (just above major flood level of 8.0 metres) and is near steady. The Diamantina River at Birdsville will remain just above the major flood level during Saturday and Sunday.
