Currently as at 9.40pm, Thursday, 20 September, a fast-moving and unpredictable fire is travelling in a north-easterly direction from west of Bauple Woolooga Road at Woolooga towards Miva, Theebine, Scotchy Pocket and Gunalda. 

The fire is currently impacting Bauple Woolooga Road, Brooyar Road, Ormes Road, Miva Road, Sexton Road and Lower Wide Bay Road in the Woolooga / Sexton area. Smoke is likely to impact Miva, Theebine, Scotchy Pocket and Gunalda.

Fire crews are working to contain the fire but firefighters may not be able to protect every property. You should not expect a firefighter at your door.

Crews will be conducting extensive backburning operations throughout the night and request the public avoid the area where possible to ensure their own safety and the safety of crews.

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.

The previous bushfire warning has changed.

Bushfire warning level: WATCH AND ACT

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) advises there is a bushfire in Woolooga and conditions could get worse.

You need to be ready to follow your bushfire survival plan. If you do not have a plan, or intend to leave, you should be ready to leave the area because the situation could get worse quickly.

Currently as at 9.45am Thursday 20 September, a fire is burning in inaccessible country 2km west of the Woolooga township and is travelling in a north easterly direction toward Smith Road and Wide Bay Creek at the rear of the Woolooga township.

The fire is likely to impact properties located on Smith Road and Bauple Woolooga Road to the Woolooga township.

Fire crews are working to contain the fire but firefighters may not be able to protect every property. You should not expect a firefighter at your door.

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.

Call Triple Zero (000) immediately if you believe your property is under threat.

Woolooga (north-west of Gympie) – grass fire as at 10.15am Wed 19 Sept

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are currently on scene at a grass fire burning near Brooweena Woolooga Road and Bauple Woolooga Road, Woolooga. This fire broke out earlier today and is posing no threat to property at this time. Firefighters are currently working to control the blaze. Woolooga residents may be affected by a smoke haze throughout the day. Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
