Update: Assault investigation, Capalaba

A 17-year-old boy has been charged following the alleged assault of a bus driver at Capalaba last week.

It will be alleged around 8pm on July 19 a boy forced his way on to a bus which had its doors closed while stationed at the Redland Bay Road interchange.

He allegedly punched the 41-year-old male bus driver multiple times in the head before fleeing on foot.

The bus driver was transported to the Redlands Hospital for facial, chest and arm injuries.

The boy has been charged with unlawful entry of a vehicle for committing an indictable offence and assault occasioning bodily harm.
