Update 2: Evade police, Brinsmead
Investigations into the whereabouts of the male driver who fled the scene of a traffic crash at Brinsmead continued overnight.
An allegedly stolen utility crashed into a tree in the vicinity of Glenoma Park, after evading an attempted police intercept.
The male driver fled on foot and was not able to be located.
The vehicle, which was allegedly stolen from the Atherton Tablelands in February, was seized for forensic examination.
Officers focused their search efforts on the suburb of Aeroglen early this morning.
At around 8.40am, detectives approached a residence on Palmerston Street at Aeroglen and a man fled on foot.
The 27-year-old Goldsborough (via Gordonvale) man was taken into custody at the scene.
He is now assisting police with their inquiries.
A woman has also been charged with one count each of possession of a dangerous drug, possession of a thing used in the commission of a crime and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
She is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on July 27.
